The Deck

31 Jan 2018

Decked OUT.

Northshore’s The Deck is a unique, temporary waterside structure developed to give residents an understanding of the past, and a glimpse into the future, of this growing community.

Beneath the developed land and forgotten wharves of Northshore, lies a rich, nautical history. The Deck, an exciting temporary community space, aims to celebrate this past whilst educating the community on plans for the future.

As the largest waterfront, urban renewal project in Brisbane, Northshore is changing at a rapid pace. Stunning homes and parks line the once bare waterfront, encouraging downsizers from across Brisbane (and Australia) to join the throng of new residents looking for the perfect lifestyle. The Deck, developed by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) and designed by renowned architect Anna O’Gorman and built by Charles Warren Constructions, helps foster a relationship between the community and the Northshore precinct.

Offering important information on plans for the future through an interactive display and creating a tangible link to the sites past with the use of historic recycled wharf timber.

Located next to the new Eat Street Northshore precinct, The Deck gives visitors and locals alike the chance to relax, learn and develop an important connection to place.
